Black Math Revival is a power-trio established to break through the barriers of conventional music, and to have fun while doing it. The band was created by cousins Jason Smith and Stephen Easley out of their shared devotion to The White Stripes and all things Jack White. The musical duo, fused by blood and their shared belief that rock has no scientific formula, added Smith’s sister-in-law, Krystal Murphy, to provide the lyrical edge they were seeking. Smith anchors the group with intense percussion and rhythmic creativity, while Easley lays down the guitar riffs with his straightforward, yet inspired guitar style. Murphy completes the group with an edgy, yet passionate, lyrical sound.
Through the use of raw distortion, explosive riffs, and upbeat tempos, Black Math Revival takes listeners on a magical ride through many genres of music. Song styles range from hard rock, punk, and blues to old school rock n’ roll all delivered in true garage band style.
Black Math Revival doesn’t follow any preset formulas when jamming, and they only follow one rule…if it sounds good, play it!
The band’s first album, Stranger Things Have Happened, is scheduled to be released in early 2008 and is sure to be a mind blowing, heart pounding, lung thumping rhythmic masterpiece. If you love the raw sound and gritty rock of a garage band, then Black Math Revival will quickly become a favorite in your play list.
